2D DESIGN EXCERPTS

All of these were made for weekly assignments in a 2D Design course at RPI. Each week, we would cover some fundamental principle of design (perspective, value, color, contrast, line, etc.) and create a number of pieces demonstrating the week’s principles. At the beginning of the semester, each student had to pick a theme to stick with for the rest of the course. Some chose subject matter (cars, video games, hats, etc.), and others chose a style or medium (graffiti, photography, collage, etc.). I elected to work with only white paper and gave myself a size constraint of four by four inches. I ended up bending the rules of the course a bit, occasionally coming up with something that was three dimensional, took advantage of the surrounding area, or was meant to be interacted with through folding, holding up to light, or viewing from different angles.
